Interview with Marine Insurance Advisor Roxanna King

At Wallace, Welch, and Wellingham, our group of experienced and knowledgeable marine insurance advisor is integral to delivering our customers the best boat and yacht insurance products, service and experience. We sat down with one of our advisors, Roxanna King, to learn a little more about her:

Tell us a little about yourself: I am a true St. Petersburg girl, born and raised, lived here my entire life. I have a husband and we are expecting our first little bundle of joy named Stella in August. We also have 2 adorable Rhodesian Ridgebacks named Genevieve and Madelyne who will be making quite the adjustment once our baby girl is here. I completed the Power Squadron boating course and I am a member of the Tampa Bay Mariners Club.

What do you like to do for fun? I love to bake. My passions include traveling to Europe, antiquing, running with my dogs and anything that would be a fun adventure. I have been to Paris twice, London and Ireland. I hope to go to Tuscany next year.

If money was no object, what would be your dream boat and why? I would hire a captain to sail me through the Mediterranean on a 64’ Jeanneau. I would stop through each country to sample the food and find the best antique shops and markets.

What’s your favorite part of your job? I like that the clients we work with have a passion for boating. I love working with that new client who is so excited to pick up their boat. Their enthusiasm is contagious, I get excited with them.

What made you pursue a career in marine insurance? I started my insurance career with Wallace Welch & Willingham, 15 years ago in high school. A friend referred me to the Agency; it was either WWW or Chick-fil-A. I love that the marine community is so tight knit and I have worked with the same group of underwriters for the past 10+ years. I have built some very good friendships over the years.
